UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Union police said three Wendy’s employees in Union, South Carolina, face food-tampering charges after food was allegedly taken from the trash and spat on before being served to a customer who had complained about a drive-thru meal.

Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item, Fox News reported. The restaurant was the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass.

Police accounts said the customer complained about the first meal, staff remade the order, and the alleged tampering happened before she drove away with the replacement meal. Fox News said the three suspects were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22, while another police-cited account said Sanders and Rice were arrested and a third employee was disciplined by the restaurant.
