How we started
The Inland Empire spreads across citrus country, foothill towns and broad valleys threaded with freeways and freight routes. We started Inland Empire News Online because that landscape holds places with distinct stories: apple orchards in Oak Glen, mountain views from San Bernardino and streets in Ontario where warehouses stand near traces of the citrus past. We wanted to report across the region without treating those places as interchangeable.
Our coverage takes us through Riverside and Redlands, Fontana and Colton, Rancho Cucamonga and Highland, and the other communities that make up the Inland Empire. We share this region with our sister site, Yucaipa Times, and we are part of Times Media Service. From the foothills to the valley floor, we look for the details that help you recognize your part of the map.

Independent
Editors decide what we publish. Advertising, sponsorship and other commercial interests cannot buy favorable coverage or stop legitimate reporting.
Accountable
When a fact we published is wrong, we correct the story itself and add a visible note that says what changed.
How we use AI
AI and automated tools may help us with research, drafting, transcription and translation. A responsible person is accountable for everything we publish, and we disclose AI’s role when it is material.
