The school district closed the application process on February 2, 2022, with the following candidates submitting:

Tressy CappsGuillermina MirelezViviana RomeroFrancesca Villarreal

The board trustees interviewed each of the candidates by allowing an opening statement, followed by a single question from each of the board trustees.  After the candidate rounds, the board trustees listed their top two to four candidates.

The voting was brought forward with three different motions in the first round to vote on a new appointed trustee with each of the vote 3-3 and for the board to make a provisional appointment would need to be a least a 4-2 vote.

In the second round of voting, it got worst with the first vote 2-4 and the second vote 1-5 after which the board moved forward to adjourn the meeting.

Time will tell if this board can be able to get the business of the school district done with the possibility of 3-3 decisions.

At this point the voters will now decide on how this seat will be filled in the coming November 2022 general election.
