Ontario, California (Times Media Service) – Ontario International Airport is making travel easier this summer by adding 12 new flights to popular domestic and international destinations, including Mexico and Taiwan. This expansion gives Inland Empire residents more options and supports the region’s growing economy.

ONT’s Summer Expansion Brings New Destinations and More Choices
Ontario International Airport’s summer expansion is set to transform travel for Inland Empire residents. The airport is adding 12 new flights, connecting travelers to major U.S. cities like Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, as well as international destinations in Mexico and Taiwan. This strategic move is designed to meet rising demand and make ONT a top choice for both business and leisure trips.

International Connections: New Flights to Mexico and Taiwan
International travel from Ontario International Airport is getting a major boost this summer. STARLUX Airlines will launch four weekly flights to Taipei, Taiwan, beginning June 2, making ONT a stronger link to Asia. Volaris, a leading Mexican carrier, is adding daily flights to Los Cabos, León/Bajío, and Morelia, plus doubling service to Guadalajara starting July 4 and 5. These new routes make it easier for families to visit loved ones and for tourists to explore top vacation spots.

Domestic Growth: More Flights to Major U.S. Cities
Domestic travelers will see more options, too. Southwest Airlines is introducing daily flights to Baltimore/Washington, while United Airlines adds daily service to Chicago O’Hare. ONT is also restoring daily flights to New York JFK, increasing service to Dallas-Fort Worth, Salt Lake City, and Sacramento. With more than 2.8 million seats available this summer, ONT is ready to serve a record number of passengers.

Economic Impact and Community Benefits
The expansion at Ontario International Airport is important for the region’s economy. Officials expect 2.22 million passengers this summer, a 1.7% increase over last year. More flights mean more jobs, increased tourism, and extra business opportunities for local companies. ONT’s growth also makes travel more convenient, reducing the need for Inland Empire residents to drive to Los Angeles or other distant airports.

Why This Matters for Inland Empire Travelers
Ontario International Airport’s new flights and destinations provide greater flexibility, shorter travel times, and improved access to global markets. The airport’s continued investment in new routes shows confidence from airline partners and reflects the area’s rising demand for air travel. For local families, businesses, and visitors, ONT’s expansion is a win for convenience and economic vitality.
