WASHINGTON, June 25 (DC Times Online) — Visitors planning a stop at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall can now reserve timed-entry tickets for the undercroft beneath the monument ahead of its June 25 opening to the public, the National Park Service said.

The 15,000-square-foot exhibit area has been hidden since the memorial opened in 1922. The Park Service said it will feature interactive exhibits and multimedia presentations on the memorial’s construction and its place in American history and civil rights.

Tickets are free, though advance reservations include a $1 service fee. Visitors can book through Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777, according to the agency.

Same-day tickets will be distributed starting at 8:45 a.m. at the Korean War Veterans Memorial kiosk on Daniel Chester French Drive, just south of the Lincoln Memorial. The project is being funded in partnership with the National Park Foundation.
